Everyone is using a computer to make money these days, even the junk yard dogs. The fact that the value of scrap metal has risen so dramatically in recent years, supports the idea that every used car parts dealer should have some industry related software in place to help him or her make even more money. This would not only include establishing a Web page to show the parts and vehicle inventory of the business, but software that would have the entire inventory on record. Choosing software that is Windows compatible probably makes the most sense for a majority of companies

Used Car Parts – Salvage Yard Software

Key elements in salvage yard software should include inventory and sales history of 100% of the vehicles. The system should also include used car part finder interface and vehicle finder interface. Once a chosen vehicle is pulled up on the screen, the system should automatically show which parts have already been sold from the car. The user of the system should be able to look up parts by vehicle application, part type, or part number. The parts inventory part of the system can include pulled parts, parts on vehicle, as well as new parts such as radiators and windshields. In addition, any salvage software system for used car parts should track the sales of parts that were not inventoried as well as towing and storage charges.

A sales program for used cars is commonly added because a lot of salvage yards sell used cars and rebuilt trucks. Get a system that can, at any moment, add up your sales and sales tax. Customer account files, for regular customers, give counter people an easy way to build good will with regular customers. Having the ability to print receipts, invoices, and vehicle and parts catalogs, will give your business a professional feel.

Used Car Parts – Auto Parts Industry And Job Shop Software

The basic software should include, inventory, Point-of-Sale, and electronic cataloging features. Other necessary components include part number cross reference, application cataloging engine, user configurable Part-Finder and Model-Finder menus, point-of-sale invoice printing, automatic inventory adjustment, re-order report, customer file, complete sales history file, inventory editing spread-sheet screen, and a payables file. The counter person should be able to look up items by part number, by cross reference number, by catalog application, by description, by vendor product line, or by make and model.

Used Car Parts – Used Car Lots And Dealers

The chosen program should include a vehicle locater function, since many used car parts brokers will purchase an entire vehicle although they intend to sell just a few of its valuable parts. The owner should be able to see the vehicles expenses, below each vehicle, so he can quickly calculate how much money he has invested in that vehicle.

If you are eyeing on a new car but you simply cannot afford it, then you have to do some measures to come up with the money you need in order to buy it. One good idea would be selling the car parts you have in your old cars. If you have a Saturn car in your garage and you can’t make use of it already, then why not try to sell its parts? If some of the parts in your Saturn cars are still in good condition, then make money out of it in order to buy the new car that you want. Good idea, isn’t it?

Used Saturn Car Parts – Are They Still In Good Shape?

Saturn car parts or the Saturn brand itself is known for its durability. Almost annually, it produces the best cars sold all over the world. So if you have a very old model of a Saturn car, you might want to sell its parts to some interested buyers so you’ll have a capital for your new car.

The value of your Saturn car parts can only be known through an appraisal from a machine shop. Of course, they will base the price upon the quality of the car part that you are selling. If it doesn’t work in any way, then you can try selling the raw material itself. For example, you can sell the whole car to those who are interested in purchasing scrap material. But if your Saturn car parts are still working, then you can sell the items individually. Just make sure that you are dealing with the right people and be sure that you are equipped with the necessary knowledge that would help you in selling the Saturn car parts.

Used Saturn Car Parts – Where You Can Sell Them

Many people, especially those who are in the scrap material business, are interested in buying the materials from your old cars. Some even prefer to buy the most damaged ones for a lesser value. Other interested buyers would be the people from machine shops. They can make use of your valuable Saturn car parts in the operation or set up of a new car in their garage. Selling your Saturn car parts is actually easy to do. You just have to enter the right deal at the right time.

There are actually three places where you can sell your Saturn car parts, and these are: salvage yards, flea markets, and used car parts store. In fact, you can take images from your Saturn car and post it on the internet for an auction. The value of the Saturn car will increase if the model is very ancient. Some car displays or museums can get interested in your old Saturn cars. Again, you can sell the parts or the whole car itself. Knowing the right value of the car is very important in the trade. So like any other selling business, research first before making your move.

Whether your car is old or new, you need to replace some of its parts for various reasons. For example, you can replace your car seat covers to ensure maximum comfort. You can also change the wheels of your cars to make it appear nicer or to give your car a better ground grip. At times, owners have to replace their engines or other car part machineries because the old one has conked out already. You see, there are several reasons why car owners change some parts of their cars; and to better provide for the needs of customers, car parts replacement stores have been built. Below is a list of the popular places where you can visit to have your car parts replaced.

Replacement Car Parts In Warehouses

Warehouses are cheap sources of car parts. These are very big stores which houses or cater for the needs of many car accessory lovers. Top of the line engines are also sold in this type of shop. All you need to do is find good replacement car parts from the best warehouses in your place. You will be ensured of a quality buy at a reasonable price.

Replacement Car Parts From Your Manufacturers

Car parts enthusiasts rely on their manufacturers for replacement car parts purchases. This is probably because of the warranty or money back guarantee that manufacturers provide. Although their items are more expensive than those sold in storehouses, car parts hobbyists believe that maximum quality is provided by those companies which are the “real” dealers of the replacement car parts they want.

Replacement Car Parts From Salvage Sales

If you are looking for discount replacement car parts, then you might want to try visiting garage sales or salvage sales. They provide you the cheapest items you want. However, there is a drawback when you purchase from these second hand shops. Since the items have been used already, you will not be assured of its quality. Additionally, they cannot provide you with warranties which are useful enough when you find that the item is not working after a few tries. So if you are looking for a premium quality purchase, then the salvage shop is not an option for you.

Replacement Car Parts Sold Over The Internet

The internet is the largest source of replacement car parts. The stocks range from simple to complex items; and the products being sold are offered from cheap to expensive prices. Buying over the internet will save you more time and will free you from the hassle of visiting a store. If you have time constraints, then you can simply solve your car issues through internet buying.

Many people love the power and speed that comes from putting race car parts on their cars. Race car parts can include racing tires, racing pedals, racing transmissions, racing engines, racing chassis and much more. You can of course put as many race car parts on your car as your bank account can handle. Just make sure that what you are doing is legal in your state, make sure you drive safely, even though you now technically have a race car, and make sure that you shop around to find the best prices on your race car parts.

Specialty Stores

There are many stores that specialize in race car parts. If you know nothing of cars, take your car to one of these stores and have one of the clerks help you out. They can tell you what your car can handle and how much you’re looking to spend when it comes to the race car parts you want to buy. When you don’t know a thing about cars, however, you leave yourself wide open to get taken advantage of. This is notorious in the car business. So it might be a good idea to take someone with you who is knowledgeable about cars and who also knows a thing or two about race car parts.

Online

Shopping for race car parts online is also a great way to get the parts you need while also saving money. Just make sure you always know what you’re getting, don’t just trust the picture of the part the person selling the item posts. Ask lots of questions and make sure the race car part is compatible with your type of car.

Putting The Parts On Your Car

It’s extremely fun to trick out your own car with race car parts. What you are essentially doing is transforming your car into a race car. If you have a very common car, or one that you see all the time driving down the road, it’s very hard to be unique. The best way to drive a unique car, then, is to put race car parts on your car. Make sure you know what you’re doing, however, and if you don’t you have someone else help you. Just make sure you don’t get taken advantage of. In all the excitement of transforming your car into a race car, it is very easy to let someone talk you into spending more than you have to.

If you own a performance car and need a part, you should immediately go on the internet and start looking. Other places to look would be local newspaper classifieds, CraigsList, E-Bay, and performance car club classifieds.

Performance Car Parts – Definition Of A Performance Car

A simple definition of a performance car is “a small low car with a high-powered engine, and generally seats two people.” A performance car is usually equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds.

Many sport car performance enthusiasts of today have cars with small back seats, and there is a common movement underway to increase the seating room in models long considered sports cars by most automotive experts.

Performance Car Parts – Muscle Cars

Some car buffs will refer to high-performance muscle cars and other larger vehicles as sports cars. Others, however, draw a clear distinction between the vehicles and “true” sports cars. Purists will claim that a car can be a “sporting car” or simply “sporty” but still fall short of being a true sports car.

Not all automotive enthusiasts embrace this restrictive view of sport cars. In many circles, a sports car is any car offering greater performance or power than more standard offerings. This school of thought will consider muscle cars and other larger vehicles designed with performance in mind as sports cars.

Performance Car Parts – Suspension And Handling

Some experts maintain that the distinction between a sports car and any other type of car lies in how the car’s suspension and handling are addressed. Technical debates rage over whether various suspensions packages qualify as belonging to true “sport cars.”

Many people believe a sports car can be defined by its intentions. If the car is designed more for performance than for utility, they say it’s a sports car.

Performance Car Parts – Road And Track Magazine

This magazine is another outstanding source of used performance car parts. In addition to having a magazine, Road and Track also has a very impressive Web page that allows the looker to browse by make and model, body styles, market segment, and price.

This very popular magazine can be obtained for only $11.97 or save $35.91 by ordering a full year’s supply.

Performance Car Parts – Performance Car Magazine

This is an excellent magazine, that has an excellent classified section for locating performance car parts. Performance car magazine is published monthly for owners, drivers, and enthusiasts of performance cars. It is wholly independent of any manufacturer, club, or association. Frequently you can find evaluations and test results of new performance vehicles, written by the race car drivers that tested them.

There are many automotive parts stores out there, but my personal favorite is Pep Boys Auto Parts. While I would not call myself a fan of their automotive store, I have done a little bit of research into their history and what they are all about.

Interesting Things About Pep Boys Auto Parts

The chain was founded in nineteen twenty one by Emanuel “Manny” Rosenfeld, Maurice L. “Moe” Strauss, and W. Graham “Jack” Jackson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The original name was Pep Auto Supply, but that changed to Pep Boys Auto Parts after a police officer who sent customers there.

Currently there are five hundred and ninety three stores in thirty six states. In addition to the auto parts they sell, Pep Boys also has over six thousand service bays for vehicle repairs. The stores do multiple billions of dollars in aftermarket parts sales. They one of the leading retailers in the US and their stores can be found nationwide in over 36 states and Porto Rico

Pep Boys Auto Parts continues to be a leader in the auto industry. There have been recent changes in the company and as of April this year they have a new Interim CEO. This move was made after Jeff Rachor stepped down to become a principal in an automotive dealership venture.

Pep Boys Auto Parts provides tire, battery accessory and other benefits at all of their Superstore’s on site service facilities. In addition these service centers boast ASE-certified technicians who have access to all the high quality parts carried at the Pep Boys Auto Parts stores.

The repair services offered by Pep Boys includes: scheduled maintenance services, oil changes, transmission and engine flushes, radiator flush and fills, belts and hoses, brake services, tires, alignments, suspension work, shocks and struts, tune-ups and diagnostics, state inspections and emissions testing, batteries, alternators and starters, basic air conditioning service and repair, non-catastrophic timing belts, rack and pinion installations and basic cooling system service and repair (excluding internal engine repair).

In all my years of going to Pep Boys I have never had a problem finding the part I needed or getting service done. The employees have been extremely helpful no matter how difficult my problem was. As you can see Pep Boys Auto Parts really is your one stop solution to your automotive needs. If you get a chance check them out and see what they can do for you.

Parts For Cars: Why Many Cars Are Stolen

When your car is stolen, time is of the essence. This is because of the main reason why they are stolen – to provide parts for cars in black market rings. A car is actually far less valuable than parts for the car disassembled. Thieves have discovered that it is too hard to keep a car they have stolen from being discovered if the car is left intact. An intact car has traceable numbers on it – even if the license plates have been changed.

Chop Shops

Chop shop is the slang term for a hidden place that cuts apart stolen cars as quickly as possible in order to sell the parts for cars to whoever is desperate enough to pay for the parts. Chop shops can be anywhere – even out of doors, if the area is deserted enough and no one around is willing to do any snitching. However, small buildings or warehouses tend to be chop shops.

Hey – The Car Won’t Start

Older cars are now targeted more than brand new ones, because there is more of a demand for parts for older cars than for newer ones. But there is another aspect of car crime an owner must be aware of – those thieves that just steal parts of cars and leave the rest of the car behind.

Parts that have been targeted in recent years include airbags, GPS systems, stereos, batteries and just about anything else that can be yanked off. The widespread use of cordless auto tools has made thefts of parts for cars a lot easier. With practice, a thief can strip a car of sellable parts in mere minutes.

Commonsense Safety Tips

There are many things a car owner can do to help deter thieves. One is having the car parked under or very near a bright light that is on all night. Another is always making sure the car doors are locked and the keys are out of the ignition whenever you get out of the car. (It amazes me that I still come across cars running with the keys in the ignition in the greater Philadelphia area.)

Car alarms don’t work to well – and in some towns and cities, they are banned. Car alarms can also be a target for thieves looking for parts for cars to sell. However, theft prevention tools like “The Club” have helped slow down a thief enough for them to be caught in the act. The Club doesn’t stop thieves entirely, but they seem to help deter the thief from choosing your car to target.

It’s amazing how such a tiny thing as a microscopic virus can knock out a whole body. The same happens to your car. I remember when my mighty Buick suddenly refused to move. Turned out to be a surprisingly small auto part in the engine needed replacing. So, your car is only as good as the parts in it. This is one reason why many Americans rely on O’Reilly Auto Parts.

A Brief History

O’Reilly Auto Parts began as one little Springfield, Missouri shop in 1957. There is actually an O’Reilly who founded and named the shop after himself. Michael Byrne O’Reilly was forced to leave Ireland because of the potato famine and wound up in America. O’Reilly Auto Parts was opened by his two sons, who learned about the auto parts business from a stint in Fred Campbell Auto Supply.

For some unknown reason, Michael Byrne named both of his sons Charles. Perhaps it was his sense of humor; but we really don’t know. Charles Francis and Charles H. (Chub) were offered a Link dealership when Link went into a management shake-up, but refused it for unknown reasons, preferring to be bull-headed and open up their own store.

And America is sure glad about Irish bull-headedness. Old Michael worked in the store, too, even though he was in his 70s. They must’ve done something right, because in their first year they made over $700,000. Eventually, the stores grew into a mighty chain with nearly 1800 stores across 26 states in America. Today, O’Reilly Auto Parts is still in the O’Reilly family.

What’s The Big Deal

You can get everything you want for the care and maintenance of your car at O’Reilly Auto Parts, except the original car. Not only can you get quality and affordable car parts, but you can get oil, fluids, tires and those little pine trees you can hang off of your rear-view mirror. O’Reilly Auto Parts offers service as well as parts, including brake retuning, car fluid recycling, electrical testing and a loaner tool program for do it yourself auto repair.

O’Reilly Auto Parts also has the clout to buy in bulk and pass on the savings to their customers. They also have gift cards, good for any O’Reilly Auto Parts in the nation. They put out their own auto parts and accessories catalogue and sponsor their own fun contests for their customers. They also sell their own line of limited edition stuff, including Hot Wheels and T-shirts.

You need to fix your car but you’re also trying to save a little money. Are you stuck with buying new parts? No, of course you’re not. You might be thinking that old car parts won’t work as good as new ones, or that you’ll have to replace them more often than new ones. That’s not true if you know what you’re looking for and what you’re doing. It all depends on what kind of old car parts you need, what the parts are, and where you get them from. If you don’t know much about cars, by all means, take someone along with you who does know about cars. If you do know about cars, make sure you shop around to make sure you’re getting the best quality old car parts for the best possible price.

What Kind Of Parts

There are certain old car parts that will work just fine for your car. These parts include rims, bumpers and other old car parts that can be refurbished to look like new. You don’t want old brakes, old tires or anything that can be dangerous to put on your car. Make sure the old car parts work just like new and never choose anything you’re hesitant about.

Where To Get Them

If you don’t know about cars, again, take someone along with you who knows about cars. You can get old car parts from junk yards, you can get them online from internet auction sites, you can respond to ads in the newspaper or on free internet listing sites, or anywhere else where someone is advertising old car parts. Make sure that you examine the old car parts thoroughly so that you know exactly what you’re getting. If you have someone with you who knows about cars, make sure they examine the parts. You never want to put anything on your car that you’re not sure about. If you need to replace the part in a few weeks or months, you may as well have bought a new car part. You can get old car parts, just make sure they’re still good enough to use on your car and that they’re safe.

Shop Around

Just like when buying new car parts, always shop around for the best deals when shopping for old car parts. There are many ways and many places to obtain old parts and everyone will charge a different price. So do your own research so that you know what you should spend and make sure you’re never taken advantage of.

What is NISMO? Well simply put it is the racing division of Nissan. NISMO offers literally hundreds of Nissan car parts to turn your 350Z, Sentra, or other Nissan into a full blown racing machine. Let’s take a look specifically at some Nissan car parts for the 350Z so you have a better idea of what NISMO can do for you.

NISMO and Your 350Z

The factory 350Z is a fine tuned sports car. With the addition of NISMO Nissan car parts you can turn it into a race ready machine. There are two types of NISMO Nissan car parts – R-tune and S-tune. S-tune is the street parts and R-tune is the race parts. We are going to take a look at the R-tune parts.

First up on our Nissan car parts tour are the NIZMO R-tune cold air intake. These OEM Nissan car parts are designed to replace the standard cold air intake on your 350Z. Adding this component to your engine has a number of beneficial effects, but the most important is the increase of 10.2 horsepower and 8.0lb-ft increase that they give. With a list price of only $525 these intakes are a must have for any serious 350Z owner.

Next addition to the engine is some after market headers. The 350Z NISMO headers bolt right on and will give you and additional 13 horsepower and 13 lb-ft. These are priced at $1292 list. Paired up with the cold air intake you now have an additional 23 horsepower and 21 lb-ft of torque. Not to shabby for less than two grand.

If that is not enough the R-tune line also offers a new camshaft for increased response and performance. This upgrade will run you about $1500 but again is a must have if you are looking to really bring your Z to the next level.

The next option in the NISMO line is the cat back exhaust system. A full replacing for the dual pipes on the back this system will give you an extra 6 horsepower and 3.5 lb-ft while freeing up 9 lbs of weight. At roughly a thousand dollars this is a great option as well.

Still want more? Well there are many more NISMO Nissan car parts options available. From floor mats to aluminum pedals the NISMO line will let you fully deck out your Z in every option imaginable. You can do it all at once or one part at a time, but once you start the options are endless.
